Beurer EM 38 Back Pain TENS Belt utilizes the principles of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS). TENS is a clinically proven effective whilst drug free method of relieving certain types of pain, such as the back pain and muscular tension in the lumbar region.

In TENS therapy, gentle electrical currents stimulate sensory nerve endings through the skin in order to decrease perception of pain. Electric stimuli generated by a tens machine (i.e. Beurer Back Pain TENS Belt EM 38) block pain signals that travel from peripheries along the nerves to the central nervous system. Gentle TENS stimulation of the nerves modifies pain sensation and reduces the feeling of discomfort and pain.

The electric TENS stimulus also helps our bodies to increase production of substances called endorphins. Endorphins are naturally produced chemical substances that can make us feel better.

TENS therapy is side effects free and painless. During TENS treatment you will only feel a gentle tingling sensation in the treated area, where the skin electrodes come to contact with your skin.
