iTouch TENS and TENS Therapy

Transcutaneous Nerve Stimulation delivered by devices such as the iTouch Easy and iTouch Plus – TENS – is an effective and medically recognized method of pain relief. TENS stimulates body’s won defences against pain. TENS works by generating and emitting tiny electrical impulses and delivering them through the skin via skin electrodes. Gentle TENS signals combat your pain in two ways – by blocking the pain messages from reaching your brain and by helping your body to release natural pain killing substances called endorphins. Endorphins are body’s own pain killers that induce the sense of relaxation and wellbeing. iTouch Easy TENS Machine

iTouch Easy is a sleek yet powerful 2 channel TENS machine. iTouch Easy features one touch memory start that enables you to start the iTouch Easy TENS machine with just a touch of one button. The iTouch Easy TENS machine remembers the last setting used and returns to it. Upon its one button start activation of the last setting, the iTouch gently ramps up to approximately 75% of the last intensity level used, taking into account the natural tolerance that the body may have built up.

To ensure best performance the iTouch easy has been fitted with a pad alarm that alerts you if the contact with your skin of any of the four pads (skin electrodes) is lost or below standard.

The iTouch Easy also features unique single plug connection for both channels that simplifies lead connection and management during use.

The iTouch Easy TENS machine performs a known and reproducible stimulation – control strength control. Control Strength Control feature monitors skin and electrode pad resistance and adjusts the signal output to maintain constant current, which is linked to intensity steps on 0.5 mA incremental basis for maximum comfort.

iTouch Plus is an upgraded advanced version of the iTouch Easy. iTouch Plus has all the features of the iTouch Easy plus extra advanced features that many users of TENS machines will find very useful.

The extra features of the iTouch Plus above the features of the iTouch Easy are as follows:

• Customised Settings: The iTouch Plus enables you to select, store and alter any or all of the parameters, such as frequency, pulse width, mode and time. The customization enable you to set a taylor made treatment programmes most suited to your personal needs.

Contraindications to TENS therapy:

• If you have a pacemaker fitted
• If you have a cardiac rhythm problems
• If you have epilepsy
• If you are in the first three months of pregnancy
• When driving or operating machinery

Never start your TENS treatment until the cause of your pain has been diagnosed and always consult your medical practitioner if you have any worries or doubts in respect of your health.  

Using adhesive skin electrodes for TENS therapy:

• Do not place skin electrodes of the carotid arteries at the front of the neck
• Do not place skin electrodes over the eyes
• Do not place skin electrodes across the front of the head
• Do not place skin electrodes on the abdomen at anytime during pregnancy
• Do not place the skin electrodes near or over malignant tumors
