NeuroTrac MultiTENS TENS and EMS Machine
NeuroTrac MultiTENS Dual Channel TENS and EMS Device
NeuroTrac MultiTENS is an innovative dual channel TENS and EMS (NMS) device for muscle rehabilitation and pain relief. NeuroTrac MultiTENS enables you to run 2 different programmes at the same time!
Ability to use 2 different programmes simultaneously means that you can apply a combination of high and low frequency pain relief treatments on 2 different target areas at once. For instance, you can use channel 1 to stimulate release of endorphins in the area of pain and use channel 2 to trigger the pain gate mechanism, thus maximising the level of pain relief.

NeuroTrac MultiTENS background
NeuroTrac MultiTENS represents a novel approach to pain relief by application of conventional TENS and EMS integrated into a single dual channel device. NeuroTrac MultiTENS offers precise control of pulse width, rates, ramp up times; work/rest cycles as well as alternating or synchronous application, if 2 channels are applied.
NeuroTrac MultiTENS user manualPlease note that the EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) is also frequently referred to as NMS (Neuromuscular Stimulation) or STIM (Stimulation).
Physicians and therapists around the world recommend and prescribe TENS and STIM therapy extensively as it is in general a very effective and very safe therapeutic modality that works well for majority of users.
NeuroTrac MultiTENS practical application
NeuroTrac MultiTENS has 13 pre-set TENS programmes and 3 pre-set NMS (EMS/STIM) programmes.
You can also customise treatment parameters to your own personal requirements by utilising the 3 customisable programmes. Up to 5 phases can be configured for each of the 3 custom programmes. The custom programmes feature a simple set up of 1 phase only or an advanced set up of up to 5 phases.
NeuroTrac MultiTENS has a clear and bright backlit LCD that enables the display to be read easily even in dark or poorly lit conditions.
The control keypad has bigger keys for ease of use. There are 2 large programme buttons enabling the device to run a separate TENS programme on each channel for better combination of output to control pain more effectively.
- PRG 1 programme button selects the TENS programme to run on Channel A
- PRG 2 programme button selects the TENS programme to run on Channel B
NeuroTrac MultiTENS delivers comprehensive statistics based on a real time clock with recordings of up to 5 sessions daily for 60 days. An easy to use menu allows review of statistics to ensure user compliance and correctness of use.

About Transcutaneous Electric Nerve Stimulation (TENS)
TENS (transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation) is a non invasive and drug free way of controlling acute and chronic intractable pain as well as post surgical traumatic pain. TENS therapy can be used as a standalone therapy modality or as an adjunct to other therapy methods (i.e. physiotherapy, medication, etc.). TENS therapy does not cure painful conditions, but helps to control pain perception. NeuroTrac MultiTENS is an advanced dual channel TENS with stimulator.
During TENS applications, mild electric impulses are transmitted through the skin via surface skin electrodes to modify the body's perception of pain. TENS works by inhibiting the transmission of pain signals along the small nerve fibres to the spinal cord. This inhibitory mode of action of TENS is known as the 'Pain Gate Theory'.
What is pain?
Pain is the body's own way of flagging up that something is wrong. Feeling pain makes us realise that we could be developing an abnormal condition. Without pain, abnormal conditions may go undetected, leading to damage or injuries to vital or critical organs. In other words, pain is body's own warning system.
Suffering long term chronic pain is not necessary apart of its importance for diagnosis. Pain is felt, when a coded signal travels to the brain, where it is decoded and analysed. The pain message travels from the injured area of the body along small nerves leading to the spinal cord. At spinal cord, the message is switched to a different nerve that takes the signal up the spinal cord to the appropriate area of the brain. Subsequently, the brain analyses the pain message and refers it back so that it is felt at the injury point.
About Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMS)
Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMS / EMS / STIM) is repeated muscle contraction and relaxation by application of electric impulses. The impulses are generated by a stimulator, such as NeuroTrac MultiTENS and delivered to the muscles via the skin electrodes placed on the surface of the skin in close or direct proximity to the stimulated muscles.
The electric impulses mimic the action normally originating in the central nervous system, causing the muscles to contract and relax repeatedly in a similar way as during motion or exercise. Electrical stimulation is frequently used as a therapeutic intervention for muscle strengthening as well as to improve the strength of injured or traumatised muscles.
NMS /EMS / STIM are most frequently used on the muscles of the arms, shoulder griddle, leg muscles and low back. The most common impairments that respond well to muscle strengthening stimulation are quadriceps weakness and lumbar paraspinal weakness.
What painful conditions respond to TENS and EMS therapy
1. Painful conditions that respond well to TENS: arthritic pain, post operative pain, lumbago, sports injury pain, phantom limb pain after amputation, skeletal pain, neuralgia, whiplash, pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, period pain, cancer pain, back pain, general pain, sciatica, muscular shoulder aches, tension.
2. Painful conditions that respond well to STIM: sports injuries, continence, oedema and stroke. STIM also prevents disuse atrophy, increases muscle strength, increases blood flow to the muscles in cases of intermittent claudication and maintains and improves movements and mobility.
Physicians and therapists around the world recommend and prescribe TENS and STIM therapy extensively as it is in general an effective and safe therapeutic modality that works effectively for majority of users.
