Neurotrac MyoPlus performs EMG Biofeedback. Neurotrac MyoPlus is a stand alone Biofeedback device using its LCD screen to set up the appropriate parameters for individual users. Neurotrac MyoPlus can also work together in conjunction with established multilingual Neurotrac software. A 'new generation' Neurotrac MyoPlus 4 dual channel EMG with 4 channel STIM is now also available.

Neurotrac MyoPlus offers the following functionalities:Neurotrac Myo Plus.

  1. produces individual structured patient sessions
  2. produces daily or weekly progress reports
  3. enables clinician to record patient’s Work/Rest sessions to verify home compliance
  4. monitors, motivates and reinforces patient’s progress
  5. serves as an assessment tool or a biofeedback device
  6. works with a computer or as an independent stand alone portable device

EMG Biofeedback and Neuromuscular Stimulation commonly used to re-educate muscles in a wide range of physiotherapy and rehabilitation applications and in sports injury related problems. Combination of electromyography (EMG) and neuromuscular stimulation works well in the treatment of problems as incontinence (i.e. stress incontinence, urge incontinence) and numerous conditions caused by a weak pelvic floor, such as prolapse and lack of sensitivity. EMG and stimulation also aid recoveries from a wide range of musculoskeletal problems, sports injuries, back pain, Bells Palsy and even for post stroke muscular recoveries.

Neurotrac MyoPlus delivers EMG triggered Stimulation

Neurotrac Myo Plus with measurements graphs. The EMG Triggered Stimulation (ETS) is simply a combination of EMG (electromyography) and Stimulation during which electromyography serves as a triggering threshold for the stimulation starting point.

In simple words, the pre-set EMG threshold has to be reached for the stimulation to begin. In practice this means that at the end of each ‘work’ phase the Neurotrac Myo Plus reverts back to the EMG ‘rest’ phase and further stimulation cannot commence until the user reaches the pre-set EMG threshold.

In the automatic mode, the Neurotrac MyoPlus continually monitors the muscle’s work efforts. If the patient finds achieving the threshold too difficult, the Neurotrac MyoPlus automatically reduces the threshold. In the same way, if the patient finds reaching the threshold too easy, the Neurotrac Myo Plus increases the threshold level accordingly.

Neurotrac MyoPlus delivers Passive and Active combination of EMG Biofeedback and Neuromuscular Stimulation

The initial phase is Passive EMG. This entails Work / Rest or a pre-set template that is followed by the Active phase of neuromuscular stimulation.

The Passive and Active regime is particularly beneficial for patients using their own muscle initiative, which is subsequently followed by assisted muscle stimulation. The Passive and Active form of treatment is highly effective in increasing the muscle tone and movement, whilst also improving relevant responses in the brain.

Neurotrac MyoPlus delivers effective Neuromuscular Stimulation

When using neuromuscular stimulation, it is pivotal to set the stimulation parameters correctly. The EMG diagnosis helps to determine the most effective modes to set or select.

Neurotrac MyoPlus also offers custom programs that enable clinicians to choose from a wide range of pulse widths (µS), frequencies (Hz), work/rest, ramp up or ramp down and overall duration times. Additionally, up to 5 phases per program can be set up, each with own frequencies, individual pulse width, ramp up, ramp down and duration time.

Neurotrac Software helps to get the best performance from Neurotrac Myo Plus, Neurotrac ETS and Neurotrac Simplex.

Neurotrac Software offers 5 main modes of operation:

  • Open Display used for general EMG readings without a set time limit.
  • Template Training that allows therapists to create a template line for the patient to follow by increasing the patient's control of a particular muscle.
  • Work / Rest Assessment that monitors the progress of the patient and creates work / rest statistics to aid the therapist to evaluate and diagnose muscular problems.
  • Work / Rest Training for training of muscles over a number of work / rest trials.
  • Patient Progress Reports can be created from work / rest assessments to produce comprehensive graphs and statistical reports. Up to 10 assessments can be viewed in a graph form on one page, allowing the therapist to visually compare each assessment to see the progress achieved by individual patients.

Full EMG statistics are provided at the end of the session. Quality of life information is also shown. Patient data base stores comprehensive personal and session information for each patient. Details of over 32 000 (thirty two thousand) patients can be stored. The reports can even be used to form comprehensive insurance reports if a clinic needs to prove to insurers that their patient is benefiting from the treatment.
