TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) has been designed to stimulate sensory nerve endings in order to decrease perception of pain. TENS therapy relieves pain without drugs. The mild electrical stimuli block pain signals from travelling up the nerves via spinal cord to the central nervous system. This is called the ‘pain gate control’. In addition to blocking the pain signals from reaching the brain, the TENS stimuli also encourage the production of body’s own natural pain killers called ‘endorphins’. Endorphins change sensory perception of pain and induce the feeling of well being.

Please note that TENS therapy does not cure pain or medical conditions. TENS merely helps to control the perception of pain and makes you feel pain  free and more comfortable. TENS Therapy is one of several drug free methods of pain relief with electrotherapy.

Pain Doctor is a hand held TENS device designed for home use. Pain Doctor utilizes transcutaneous electrical stimulation (TENS) and soothing vibration delivered via the skin to the painful body areas.

Pain Doctor delivers 2 treatment modalities to treat your pain – TENS therapy and vibration massage - these 2 treatment modalities can be applied together or separately for the best pain relief attainable. 

1. Pain Doctor treatment system comprises of direct TENS frequencies with pulse rate and adjustable intensity that allow you to select comfort levels based on your own individual need. Pain Doctor has 16 intensity levels and pulse frequency in 1 Hz, 5 Hz and 22 Hz.
2. Pain Doctor also has a soothing vibration massage mode that can be activated on/off as required for a soothing vibration massage carried out at the same time as the TENS treatment or entirely separately.

Pain Doctor does not use skin pads or lead wires that standard TENS machines use to deliver the electrical stimuli to the surface of the skin. Instead, the Pain Doctor has 2 interchangeable treatment heads:

• A small round cap for precise and accurate treatment of a particular painful area
• A large flat cap for general pain easing massage of a greater area

How to use the Pain Doctor

Pain Doctor is easy to use and effortless to apply.

1. Simply insert the batteries and push on a treatment head.
2. Apply conductive gel to the treatment area and directly to the treatment heads.
3. Activate the Pain Doctor TENS treatment pulse with on/off button and adjust the intensity to strong but comfortable level. You can adjust easily change the frequency by pressing the on/off button.
4. To switch off, simply press the button for longer and hold for few seconds. Pain Doctor will turn off automatically are 10 minutes of treatment. You can treat yourself as many times per day as you need – there are side effects and you cannot overdose.
5. When required, you can apply vibration massage by pressing of the vibration button. Pain Doctor allows you to perform TENS therapy and soothing vibration massage together or separately as you prefer.

Pain Doctor warnings:

• Do not use Pain Doctor, if fitted with pace maker
• On the carotid arteries on the front of your neck or over your heart
• Do not use Pain Doctor while driving
• During the first 16 weeks of pregnancy
• Do not use Pain Doctor around your eyes or directly over metal implants or on broken, irritated, sensitive or numb skin or open wounds
• Do not use Pain Doctor when suffering from epilepsy
• In children under the age of 8 without adult supervision
