Thermofocus '6 in 1' Non-Contact Clinical Thermometers background

Thermofocus measures baby's temperatureThermofocus thermometers for multi purpose functionality for clinical applications and for family use
Thermofocus non-contact thermometers are easy to use, safe and deliver convenient multi purpose functionality. They are the perfect thermometers for use in all kinds of situations from busy hospitals, therapy clinics, ambulances and care homes to schools and nurseries, airports and workplaces as well as by individuals and families in their own homes, including temperature monitoring in toddlers, babies and infants.

  • Thermofocus thermometers are perfect for families with children. Equally, Thermofocus thermometers are perfect for use at nurseries and in schools and colleges.
  • Using Thermofocus thermometers in clinical settings (i.e. clinics, hospitals, in ambulances and emergency rooms) has many benefits. In addition to being accurate and easy to use, Thermofocus does not require disinfection after each use nor does it require costly disposable covers, thus saving time and money and delivering significant savings over period of time.
  • Thermofocus thermometers are particularly suitable for use in situations, where ambient temperature varies between different rooms as well as in mobile situations, such as mobile clinics and ambulances. Advanced patented quick stabilisation technology enables Thermofocus to cope with temperature changes and the LCD display shows a countdown time needed for the thermometer to stabilize into different temperature for accuracy of measurements.

Stabilisation can be achieved using the Automatic Quick Calibration System (AQCS) that normally takes circa 5 minutes, regardless of the magnitude of temperature difference or using Manual Quick Calibration System (MQCS) for immediate stabilization versus a reference object, which takes only 3 seconds.
Thermofocus Clinical Thermometer in high risk situations
Measuring temperature accurately, speedily and hygienically from a distance - without any contact with patient's body and without touching human skin - can be important in various high risk situations or when it is essential to screen body temperature of many people in a short space of time (i.e. when infections are present, when contamination is likely or in pandemic situations). Thermofocus non-contact thermometer outperforms other types of body thermometers (i.e. digital underarm thermometer, ear thermometer or forehead thermometer) in term of hygiene, safety and accuracy at high risk situations.

Thermofocus '6 in 1' Clinical Thermometers general overview

Thermofocus range of non-contact clinical thermometers deliver precise, accurate and reliable digital measurements of body temperature instantaneously without any contact with the skin or mucous membranes and without causing any discomfort or disruption to the patients. The body temperature is simply taken by pointing the Thermofocus thermometer at the centre of the forehead or alternatively, at the navel, armpit or neck (as appropriate for the patient's circumstances) for about half a second from a circa 3 cm distance.

To measure temperature from a distance is the key advantage of using Thermofocus thermometer. Thermofocus does not require touching or being in direct contact with the patient nor does it require patient participation or patient cooperation. Thermofocus enables you to take the temperature without awaking your sleeping baby or disturbing an ill person during rest.
Because Thermofocus thermometer does not require being in contact with the skin or mucus membrane of the patient, its use is very hygienic and there is no need for disposable covers or disinfection after each use.

As Thermofocus thermometers are multi purpose, you can further utilise your Thermofocus to measure ambient room temperature as well as temperature of food, drink, bathing water and other objects as required.

How does Thermofocus Clinical Thermometer work?

Thermofocus is perfect for families and for hospitals.

Thermofocus thermometer is the only non contact thermometer in the world that features integral OPTICAL AIMING SYSTEM. The optical aiming system identifies and indicates the exact distance and the correct positioning of the thermometer during temperature taking process. Taking temperature from a correct distance is of paramount importance, because CORRECT DISTANCE equals CORRECT & ACCURATE MEASUREMENT.

Albeit the Thermofocus thermometer can be used on several area of the body - it is best when used on the patient's forehead. The forehead is the perfect place for temperature measurements, because it receives plentiful blood supply from temporal artery. During an illness or a fever, body temperature fluctuations - whether up or down - can be easily and conveniently detected on the forehead.

However, please bear in mind that in some situations, the forehead may not be the best place for temperature taking. For instance, if the child is crying, moving or has a heavily perspiring forehead, it may be better to aim the Thermofocus thermometer at the navel or the neck, just below the ear or the armpit. Also, when measuring temperature in persons with thick forehead lines and wrinkles that compromise the quality of blood supply to the forehead area, it is better to opt for taking temperature at the neck, armpit or navel. However, please remember that the area you choose to take the temperature from must be exposed and free of hair.

Using Thermofocus Non Contact Clinical Thermometer

Using Thermofocus is simple and fast.

Thermofocus has many uses. The right distance between the thermometer and the body surface (i.e. the forehead, neck or navel) is determined by 2 red light beams emitted by LED system located on the head of the thermometer - the OPTICAL AIMING SYSTEM. When the thermometer is moved closer to the body surface, the 2 beams converge to form a single red spot on the skin, indicating the correct distance for temperature taking. The light beams are absolutely harmless and there is no need for concern, even if the light points or shines into the eyes. When the lights form a single red spot, release the button and keep still for less than a second. After the lights flash, the temperature appears on the LCD display.

Whilst switched on, Thermofocus goes on a stand by after 20 seconds of non use.

Thermofocus multi purpose functionality means that in addition to body temperature, you can use your Thermofocus to monitor the ambient room temperature or measure temperature of objects in the room, such as bottles with baby milk and plates of foodstuffs or take a temperature of the bath water before bathing your baby. You can do this simply by pointing the thermometer on the objects in a similar was as when taking body temperature.
In clinical situations, Thermofocus thermometer can be used to scan the temperature of specific body areas for comparison with areas around or detect blood flow or inflammatory anomalies in different parts of the body or when conditions, such as diabetes are present. As no contact is required, Thermofocus can be used on open wounds or on internal organs during surgical procedures.

Thermofocus Non Contact Clinical Thermometer maintenance

Thermofocus is economical to use and does not require costly maintenance. It is battery powered with battery life expectancy of 10 000 measurements or 3 years, depending on use. Thermofocus thermometers use 4 x AAA (LR03 type) alkaline batteries.

The only step you must take to maintain Thermofocus is to close the cap at the tip of the device to protect it from dust and damage.
